GUI virus warning? Safe? From yuneec.us site

Its a false warning caused by the zip code used to compress the gui. This seems to happen whenever this particular zip and antivirus are used and has been reported many times to the designers. I suggest you turn off your antivirus or use another type.

Right. Turn off the anti-virus software so you can download it. There is no virus in this software. It's also best to download from Yuneec with Chrome of FireFox.

Despite a previous statement of mine to the contrary, the new GUI software does contain a trojan. I ran a scan after uploading it on the second try where it was identified and removed. Run a file scan prior to downloading. I use Firefox and AVG. My anti virus initially disconnected my laptop from the web on the first download attempt.
What: Win32:Sality
Where: C:\Program Files (x86)\TyphoonHGUI\driver\x32.exe

Just scanned my gui with up to date eset nod32 and no threats found. I don't think your trojan could have been picked up in transit by the gui if the file was zipped, so whats going on?

I also ran a scan with Avast and found the Win32:Sality Trojan. I had turned off Avast for the download as I thought it was a false positive from other posts here.

I asked Yuneec about this over a year ago. They said it's a false positive. (Firefox and Avast)

Perhaps the false positives are coming from overly conservative programmes. I've had no problems and am happy to continue using the gui.

It's the 32 bit driver that alarms. Anyone that's nervous can run it on an x64 system and delete the x32 file.

The GUI runs just fine with Sality removed. False positive or not, conservative or not, I don't want anything in my files that might be a problem. I don't trust anybody that much.

AVG is very good at picking things up that some other anti virus applications miss. Do you use the free version or the paid for version?

So it's safe to say that there are some DJI fans out there that work for a couple of antivirus developers. :D

I think we want to avoid anything about DJI, code, and software at the moment. They're a bit sensitive about those right now;)
