I have owned a lot of drones in the last few years.I buy most of the marketplace crash victims in my area and to date i have got them all flying again. All dji drones by the way. My last purchase was 2 complete Typhoon H drones. Not even crashed and actually in really nice shape. Working on the one I was able to bind it to one of the ST16 controllers, calibrate both the compass and accelerometer. Seem to have full control of the CG03+4K, even able to get video feed on the remote. Problem im having is the drone its self will hook up to as many as 20 satelites but the remote itself has only hooked up to about 15 at its best try thus preventing the motors from starting. any possible ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

It will arm with that number, are u in angle mode ? I can’t recall the top mode in this one, perhaps it’s smart mode but u need to be a distance away from the drone in that mode as it creates a safety circle where the drone won’t arm or come inside while flying. Also what colour are the arm LEDs , refer to the manual for what the colours mean

1. The number of satellites in sight says nothing about GPS accuracy and if a GPS lock was reached.
2. Not only the GPS is needed to fulfill pre-flight check but also a consistent attitude in 3D. The IMU may have a problem here.
Diagnosis:
Download the H480GUI and connect the powered-on drone to it via USB. Check if magnitude is around 1000mG. Check other sensors like GPS.
Download the flight logs from ST16 and check if GPS fix was reached. Check error messages in sensor files.
We can help if you have questions to it.
PS: How did you get DJI drones to work? DJI is more a closed system with little possibilities to repair. I have tried to get a Phantom 2 to work but failed due to "intelligent" battery. This drone didn't accept other LiPo batteries. So it went to waste basket.

Good morning, yes, I was in angle mode. my yard isnt big enough to use smart mode. I cant recall what the arm lights were now but the main led was 3 flashes of purple which i believe means no gps lock. Will be heading out soon to try again if this darn rain will go away and i can check the arm light colours, but for now I thank your for your quick responce in this matter, I feel like im starting all over in the learning process switching from dji to this brand.

Your post seems to imply you have a second TH that also appears to be in good condition. Have you tried to bind the second one to compare results with the first?

It sounds like @h-elsner could be correct with gps lock. What about ur second one does the same happen?. I’d highly advise checking rc monitor before first flight to insure all the controller inputs are working correctly, I have many with contacts that need cleaned and it can cause a crash

Would this not be a good time to install the Typhoon H GUI? The GUI has many useful diagnostic readings. And several items to detect problems with GPS.

Good morning. I have downloaded and hooked up both drones to the program. the origional one I was working on has a bad usb plug and not sure im getting a proper reading as every time i wiggle the plug it disconnects. The second one i got a reading aswell but havent yet tried the controllers. Binding to the one ST16 works on both drones. Can get video feed from both and full gimbal control but no drone info coming on screen for second drone.

Never did a lot of work with the phantom dij platform, i was more drawn to the mavic pro and been pretty lucky with them just replacing parts. as for the batteries not so lucky, have about 6 that have dropped below working voltage that are pretty much junk
If the Yaw (box 4) is steady, it looks like the drone with no RealSense mounted should be capable of acquiring GPS. I assume the low satellite count is because the drone was indoors sitting beside the computer at the time.

The thing that i found strange is the drone with realsense is the one that shows all the data on the screen and actually fired up the motors briefly... once and then shut down with a motor error (im assuming due to no props installed). As for the second ST16 it seems to be stuck on no camera selected issue.

Yea it will give a motor pro lost error or something like that, plus the motors sound rough for some reason with no props attached
Have you tried binding the drone that shows the more promising GPS to the ST16 that shows data ?
This thread is currently trying to address issues with two TH drone kits. That is very hard to handle. It would be better to choose one drone, describe its status, and then we can make more confident suggestions for trouble shooting.

The one that does NOT show data on the screen has a bad SR24 somewhere. There is an SR24 in the drone and another SR24 in the ST16. They have to talk to each other. If no data reaches the ST16 either one of the two modules is bad or they are not bound to each other. Yes, it could be stuff unplugged, corroded contacts, bad antenna, etc. Probably not. Probably a bad SR24. And you have potential replacements in the other drone/ST16.

That is often a bad 5.8 GHz module in the ST16. Sometimes the ST16 video processor board or even the ST16 Mainboard.
Again, the other drone/ST16 has potentially good replacements.
And the GPS is a completely different third issue.
How we proceed is your choice, but again, we need to choose one complete Unit and work from there.
