Vette,
Look at this post: The Process of editing 4K video
About 1/2 way down you will see a video I shot. The air to air was shot using my H 480.
Best is to park (hover) in a single location and either yaw the aircraft to follow the action, or use the Pan/Tilt of the camera.
By parking the 480 in a safe location, I was able to focus on keeping the aircraft in frame without concentrating on my flying. I did try to follow the aircraft a few times, but the shots did not look good. Next time I want to strap the wizard to it and see if she will keep up.
Such was done by the Flite Test crew using a Chroma. It worked fine but the Chroma was a lot slower than the subject being followed.
I agree with your fixed position method, having tried chasing RC planes and just parking the H to pan and tilt. It’s very helpful to place the ST-16 on a stand when using the parked method to free up fingers for camera functions. Don’t forget to raise the gear
Thanks both of you for the info, i was hoping it had a feature like dji had and did it automatically. i still feel the H pro is the best drone for the price point . never had a issue with it.
