I read recently in a thread - about something I cannot recall or find at the moment - a mention made by either Rayray or Steve Carr (again, I apologize for not remembering which gentlemen it was) about never folding down the arms of their Typhoon H and rarely removing their props, too. I would like to know more about how you exactly go about doing that myself, if possible.
Ever since I got my Typhoon H, I realized that two of the weak links in its design were found in the constant folding and unfolding of its arms (due to the strain it places on the fine wiring in those assemblies and the arm locking mechanisms) and the wear and tear the prop release mechanisms go through, too, every time they are installed and removed. I know they both are well-designed for the purposes they serve and are designed to last, but common sense tells me if that constant, routine use and motion can be avoided it would extend the life of both.
I often keep my H with arms extended, props still on, and ready to go if I am driving a short distance from one location to another, placing it in the trunk space of the SUV I sometimes drive. But I was wondering if whoever made mention of this has come up with a long-term solution to the practical side of traveling with the Typhoon H in flight-ready condition, particularly in an average sized American sedan, which I drive much more often.
Just curious to see what my options may be. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to either of you - or even both off you - who may have the answer to this question.
