The ADSB out requirement starts Jan 1 2020.

I've been running a pi with ads-b receiver for about a year. I feed to flight aware and flight radar. They give you premium access to their sites for feeding. It's pretty neat seeing the exact height and speed of the planes!

Edit- tried to display screen shot of my flightaware dashboard but it's not showing up..

Yes I know We have already updated our planes for it. Thats a nice inexpensive way to display it. Makes flying in Socal easier.

Luckily, FlightRadar24 gave me one of their receivers to host.
I am high and near an airport that was not covered.

DJI has already announced that they are working with an ADS-B manufacturer to integrate it into all of their drones

I'm wondering why they can't use the GPS signal your aircaft is already sending to you control station? The ads-b products I've seen are add-on and at $1300.00 US not very affordable.
