Correct, They are using it as an ADSB IN device for an inexpensive WX/Traffic display on an IPAD. in flight. Great article Stig.
The ADSB out requirement starts Jan 1 2020.
I've been running a pi with ads-b receiver for about a year. I feed to flight aware and flight radar. They give you premium access to their sites for feeding. It's pretty neat seeing the exact height and speed of the planes!

That's pretty sweet! I just might have to add to my hobby collection... now what can I buy my wife to distract her! LolYes I know We have already updated our planes for it. Thats a nice inexpensive way to display it. Makes flying in Socal easier.

Sounds good. Hahaha... Have fun with it!No way I'll be doing that. We'll have to fly sometime though. Just ordered the kit from Amazon so I'll be busy Saturday.
Anybody think the larger drones will have ADSB out soon?
