Neither of the traditional repair shops appear to be accepting repair orders right now.My q500 got wet and won’t work. Looking for someone to repair it.
Was it submerged totally ? I got lucky with mine. It sat out[lost] for 3 months a few years ago. A farmer found it while harvesting his corn, could have been a disaster! It got rained on a lot. I didn't want to take the 70 some screws out and take it apart, only had 1 broken prop, landed itself, so I kept a fan on it with the wood burner going for about 2 weeks,,,not real close either. I tested on GUI and all was positive. I put a fresh charged battery in the drone and it fired up,,still flying to this very day. Peace KCNeither of the traditional repair shops appear to be accepting repair orders right now.
If you post details of the event and the indications you see/hear we may be able to recommend self repair options.
The boards used in today's electronics are much better than the older ones. Water isn't a death sentence anymore. Your best bet is to disassemble the drone and remove the main board. Use rubbing alcohol to clean off the board's fuse, surface mounted pieces, and connectors. Then, take baking soda and water mixed together and with a very soft toothbrush, clean everything once again. Do NOT scrub it, just brush over each piece lightly with the mixture. Lastly, use just warm water and the toothbrush to do a rinse of the pieces on the board. Be careful not to get the board too wet. Don't soak it down. I have brought a lot of drowned drones back to life this way. When you finish rinsing everything, place it in front of a fan and allow it to dry for a few hours. Put it all back together and it should work. The battery is a different story! Good luck.My q500 got wet and won’t work. Looking for someone to repair it.
