Mushroom H 2,4 GHz antenna?

Hi, is it a stupid or "clever" idea to achive a better 2,4Ghz transfer with a mushroom antenna connected to
the tiny wire antenna under the H. Like what we see under the H520?

Not necessary. Also changing it to a "mushroom" you also have to change your controller ant. To a circular polarization or you will get a degradation in signal.
Also that makes the 360 gimbal useless as it will be in the shot.

Also that is probably the 5.8ghz video antenna not the 2.4ghz control. 2.4 is about twice the size of the one shown in picture.

If looking to increase range the best option is to change your control antennas.
For all you who don't know Alex" ibcrazy" look up his stuff he has great info in antennas and long range stuff. Also great diy for making your own stuff.

Thanx, how comes that the 520 has its antenna where it is? Isn't 520 capable of 360? I am mainly looking for a secure connection, not flying far away.

That is not the stock 520. You can tell by the gimbal. Also may not even be a 520? Where did you get the picture?

Read the description he states it's a typhoon H not the 520 also the gimbal is a modified go pro and a aftermarket camera. So he had to make the external video antenna as he probably is using a 5.8vtx on board also.
