This is my Dual HD monitor location set up. I do not believe I have posted about it before. I utilize a Zacuto HD View finder with adjustable diopter eyepiece and a SmallHD branded 10 inch monitor with or without a 4 sided soft sun shade.
I HDMI out from the ST16 into the Zacuto View finder,then loop out of that into the smallHD branded 10 inch monitor. This serves multiple purposes. As the Zacuto View finder has ZEBRA overlay on the picture,I can put my eye up to that view finder during flight to see proper exposure,critical framing etc, while still having one eye on the craft during flight.
This also allows the client to see the camera framing in 720p on the 10 inch monitor. My other intent for this location field set up is for dual operator use. Say I the pilot would view the flight via the 10 inch monitor and the camera op utilizing the Zacuto view finder. Or visa versa!
Both the Zacuto HD view finder and SmallHD branded monitor can share Canon batteries.
