I bit the bullet and bought 2 new Gifi batteries for my Chroma. I have the smart charger adapters but I have no idea how to utilize them. I see several smart charges for lipos on the market like Hitec and Spectrums, but they all seem to have 6 pin adapters and the Chroma Smart adapter is a 4 pin.
So first question is, what was the smart charger adapter designed to fit?
Second Question is, is the 10/10 battery breakin applicable for the Chroma Batteries.
I want to get a good life from these now expensive batteries and I would like to know how best to break them in.
Thanks

The charger should come with at least one Balance Board. The Balance Board is an adapter for your adapter. It has several size connectors for the battery side, one of which is a 4 pin. the other side is the cables that connect to the charger for the balance circuits.

Thank you!Now if can expound upon your theory of breaking in the batteries, I would be very grateful. 😊

Hi and welcome.
More than "breaking in" it's important to know how to use, charge and store batteries.
1) Always use "balance charge" program on the charger.
2) Don't exceed with charging current : charging time will not be affected so much if you use a1/2 C current (1/2 of battery capacity) but this will extend battery life.
3) Don't recharge batteries when they are too hot (i.e. immediately after the flight).
4) Never leave unused batteries fully charged or discharged, even for few days, they will be damaged irreparably.
Always charge them partially using "storage" program.
5) If batteries are not used for more than 3 months, provide a full cycle of charge, discharge and balance.
6) Keep batteries in a fresh place, into a safety bag or a metal case (risk of fire).
7) Never discharge too much batteries during flight, a good practice is to land asap after 1st level of low battery alarm.
From my experience, these are best practices to save batteries efficiency.

Thank you for great response! With the charger that comes with Chroma there are no options for customizing charging or discharging or storage charging. I want to buy a smart charger. I will including pictures here of what I have. Your suggestion would be most appreciated.
I have a little ToolkitRC charger but I don't have a power supply. I am willing to buy a charger but my electronics knowledge is minimal. Suggestions would be most appreciated.

I don't know if your charger ToolkitRC has storage function.
If it has , you could buy a DC power supply and use it, but you need also another adapter from xt60 socket to connect your battery:
Amazon.com: XT60 Female to 4mm Banana Bullet Female Cable Adapter for iSDT Chargers : Electronics
In this case, the cost of the power supply would be higher than a new charger.
I used for many years the IMax B6 :
It's cheap but does its job.
In both case, you need the balance board described above

You may also want to look at the Onyx KX80 available from
www.horizonhobby.com it costs about $60 US. It does come with the
adapter board for up to 6S batteries. It is the one I use and like it very much.
It is programmable for several different types of rechargable batteries.
It allows balance charge, charge, discharge, and storage functions.
You can also set 10 user presets for future use. It is a good deal for what it does.
