New drone user. Come help me out?

My suggestion is to learn how to fly before trying to learn how to use the camera. Using a couple cliche's, take off's are optional, landings are mandatory, and better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in air the wishing you were on the ground, they make some good points. A landing has to follow every take off so get very good at both. Make lots of flights learning how to take off and land under different conditions and get very good at them. After that learn the controls, without farting around with any fancy stuff, until you can recognize the aircraft's orientation and respond with the correct control inputs instinctively, not thinking about what to do. Learn how far out you can go and still be able to determine aircraft orientation. That distance should become your effective range.

The camera and custom flight profiles are fluff, it's the actual flying that matters most.
