Anyone know if Real Sense will work in the dark?

I do not know. I think the sensors are IR and if so it would be quite sketchy in the dark.

Only one way to find out. This evening, fly it up to 5 feet put a object in front of it and wala!

Is Object avoidance detection just as good at night?

I did a bit of experimenting at night with my typhoon H (in my backyard only, less than 100 feet). Mine has the Intelli RealSense module. So far in my testing, the object avoidance is just as good at night! I knew it did have some amount of infrared and sonar. But for it to be just as good, I am impressed.

RealSense from Intel is designed to create a 3D model using a 1080p HD camera, an IR camera and an IR laser projector which enables the H to detect and then go around or above obstacles in "Follow Me" and "Watch Me". If you're outside of those two modes and obstacle avoidance is on then the H should stop and wait for the pilot to take action.
