True, no doubt about it, Bill. However, in several recent incidences, homeowners have shot them down, then claimed the drone was over their property. It's a slippery slope, and local authorities may not agree with the Fed law.

But at least we have federal law on our side. Im not saying i wanna go flying over everone just cause i have federal law behind me but good to know if some idiot decides to be an ***.

Also we can call the faa to report the shooter and let the feds take over. The bottom line the faa are treating our "toy" drones like regular aircraft and making us jump though hoops as pilots, its good to know that we should get them behind us with protection.
