Hi L.P.
The video that gets recorded in ST-16 Internal Storage is recorded in an MP4 file with an extremely low bitrate. It's about 1.7 Mbps. That's way too low to handle 720p video from the downlink without frame drops and pixilation. As someone mentioned, it's really only useful for watching in conjunction with telemetry playback, or for help identifying the cause or location of a crash. You can, of course, connect a separate video recorder (like the Hauppauge! HD-PVR Rocket) to record the downlinked video via the HDMI connection on the ST-16. It will record higher bit rate (up to 18 Mbps) video to a USB thumbdrive. Quality will be as good as what you see on the controller while flying.
