I got this a few days ago, but I can't figure out how to use the copper piece that has all the allen screws in it.
Trying to figure out this prop balancer

What brand is it and where did you buy it? It appears to be used to level the cradle that the prop is mounted in. I take it there was no user manual included.

The copper colored one is for balancing helicopter blades. Not for our props, the blue cone one is for our propellors. There are heaps of YouTube video's on how to balance the props of our type and different balancers. I have the Du Bro type, which is not magnetic, and have found that the standard props are very well balanced for mass produced ones. They only require small pieces of tape to bring them up to spec. YouTube is your friend with this one, and plenty of it. Johnno Hennessy.

I use this balancer. Works on just about any prop from the smallest up to the 32-inch carbon fiber monsters I use on mu giant scale aerobatic planes. Super simple and easy to use. Accurate and simple. No problem ordering from them either. FWIW, my H+ props were pretty well balanced.

Agreed. I was somewhat surprised by that. Another reason the Typhoons are so quiet. Although I sort of miss the echo location the loud buzzing my former brand provided 
I hope no one else bought the balancer in the photo I posted. It turns out the balancer is so cheap it isn't balanced itself. I'll post an update once I've tried fixing the issue.

I am sorry that I gave you an incorrect product for the prop balancer. The one that I have is an
OcDay TRU-SPIN PROP BALANCER. I will put in some photo's with a prop on it and you will notice a small red Nikolai Mark on one tip, this should be able to be placed in any position on the 360 ° axis and not move if it is in perfect balance. You will notice a small level on the bench and that is to make sure that everything is level , check by end for ending the level, and also check the bar is level also. I have not found a lot of discrepancies in any of my prop sets, and it does make a difference especially with the sound pitch when all are balanced. Have fun and keep going , the instructions are included, after a short time you will get the hang of it. Make sure that you do it in a still room no fans or air- con as the slightest movement of air will make the prop turn. Johnno Hennessy.

I have a drawer full of prop balancers including the DuBro. After testing them all, I went back to the water glass method which has given me reproducible results and the best accuracy.
This is the way to go. I tried the glass method with my balancer and it spins more freely and seems less affected by the unbalance blue nuts.
