Is it possible to extend the landing gears, using plastic tubes?

Why not?! If you make the extended tubes in a stable, reliable way so they don't interfer with the props when in "up" position. And are strong enough for a rough landing...

Lol, i did this with a helicopter once, using half inch plastic piping tubes to hopefully help me learn to fly without it tipping on the ground. Unfortunately it made the darn thing more unstable and ended that hobby prematurely!

I would think the higher center of gravity would not be a good thing.
