No it doesn't, but there is no need for it, because you don't have stuff in the top half (it's not a top half it's a third maybe).
Therefor i just put a foam as a top protection layer on top.
The good thing is, you can open the bag completely and have great access (as shown in the video).
Currently unavailable in the US Amazon. Wonder how much shipping would be to US from UK for a prime member?

what would be great is if someone could do some type of vacu-form of the top part of the shell so you would have a thin hard plastic cover that is molded to fit over the top but does not have the thickness or bulk of the foam top.
Anyone here tried any of these or any third party at all? Found this on Amazon...

Good economical case. available on ebay for $30. straps are weak point, not very wide, and their stitching might be suspect, but I am thinking it will be just fine for my purposes.
Just read this one is replacing that ninja turtle shell hard case. looks like it has room for a laptop...
