Using/editing H indoors

Since I recently upgraded to the latest firmware, whenever I turn the ST16 and H on. If I am indoors I get continuous compass warnings. Please land in angle mode immediately then do compass calibration. Even with GPS turned off.

This stops you doing anything else, so it is almost impossible to edit camera settings for example. Is this normal now? Or do I in fact have a compass issue, it has all worked fine outside except when I was surrounded by buildings?

One bit of information you left out...
Have you actually gone through the compass calibration procedure? Outdoors away from any metal structures?

GPS turned off has nothing to do with it.

Have you placed the H on a table or something off of the ground? Could be a bunch of metal in the floor of where you are trying to shoot. Any how if you do get it to take off please use caution.
