I had my H do a "fall out of the sky" tumble 3 weeks ago when attempting my
first CCC flight. Damaged 3-4 arms, one landing strut and the camera took
the brunt of the fall. After some delays in getting my telemetry reviewed,
they have decided that the craft went into "Emergency Mode" just before falling,
and it will be covered under warranty.

They have sent me RMA and shipping labels for the H to be sent to KAV.
I have seen enough negative posts about both the work and turnaround with
the facilities at KAV, so has anyone requested a choice of repair shops to
send the bird to? Or since it's a covered warranty repair, do I not really have
any say in it?

Also I'm not sure if having replaced the stock lens for the PixAero 3.77 will alter
the repair process. (I know that the lens replacement voids the camera warranty,
but the camera is not what failed in the crash... and the lens seems to be
undamaged... most of the damage is confined the gimbal and camera shell.)

Also if, I'm sending in the ST-16, where do I find the file to save, to retain the
Expo changes I made?

I believe if you Goto the model select screen and long press the H and export the model to sd card that will save all the curves and such.

The change to the PixAero lens only impacts the camera warranty, not that of the entire aircraft.
You might call Yuneec and request they permit you to send your H to the Ontario facility. I have not been seeing a lot of good words spoken about KAV, but the bad stuff I have read about KAV seems to have come from only a couple of people, one of which appears to be young, immature, and impulsive.

Yep... going to call them tomorrow AM... I do not want to send it to either DroneNerds or KAV...
seen too many negative reports on both... If Frank at Carolina Dronz or Vertigo Drones are an
option I'll go with one of them (preferably Frank). If not, I'll wait as long as necessary for them
do the repairs in Ontario.

YAYYYY! :)

OK, called Yuneec CS and they have agreed to allow me to send the H to them in Ontario.
Apparently one of the factors in their decision making process is your location, relative to the
repair facility chosen. Once I told them that I work for FedEx and would cover shipping to them
myself, they sent me a new RA. Maybe $30 in shipping for me as a FedEx employee? D-U-N!

Once again, Yuneec CS proves to be willing to provide unmatched support for us, their customers.

I've sent to Yuneec and an outfit in Nevada (for the camera) who's name I don't remember. Both have been excellent to work with.
