BIRDS WARRANTY OR NOT?

in theory no, but you can always submit a claim to yuneec and see what they say. it would fall under the same category as hitting a deer with your car or truck and trying to claim it under warranty.

on the other hand, if you had purchased the Yes! plan with crash forgiveness from yuneec you would be covered.

Birds are a great reason to perfect the art of hand flying with GPS turned off. We’ll usually have to fly as fast as we can with many abrupt directional changes to escape their wrath. If we are to fly with raptors we have to be faster than wounded prey[emoji6]

jUST WONDERING IF BIRD TAKING OUT DRONE IS COVERED BY WARRANTY?
No. any damage incurred because of a bird strike would not be covered by warranty since any damage would not have been caused by faulty parts or workmanship.

Unless as has been pointed out above. you have the 'Yes' plan.

We should note, however, it a bird strike takes out a prop or motor on any of the H series 5 rotor mode will kick in and should prevent a crash.

YEAH RIGHT!. HAVE YOU SEEN A HAWK ATTACK SOMETHING? LOL! BIRD'S WING WAS DRAWN IN BETWEEN MOTOR AND HOUSING. BAD THING BIRD HAD TO BE PUT DOWN.
WAS ABOUT 100 FOOT AND HAWK CAME IN FROM BEHIND. WAS COMING IN FOR LANDING. WAS AT A AMA FIELD. FOUND OUT THAT HE HAS BEEN AN INTERFERENCE WITH ELECTRIC PLANES IN PAST. I THINK IT SHOULD FALL UNDER ACT OF GOD. I HAVE HAD TO SWITCH TO TACTICAL FLIGHT IN PAST BECAUSE OF AN EAGLE IN DENVER. JUST HE CAME IN HOT AND HARD.

Your description of the event is why I view efforts of European countries to train birds to down drones a little quizzically. Any multirotor of significant size using carbon fiber props would induce significant leg injuries for the birds. For drones smaller than a 520 they might get away with it but anything swinging 15” or larger props could be lethal for the bird. Fixed wing stuff is more at risk from birds though.

or state farm is sixty dollars a year cheaper than the yes program

Good to know. Is that a separate policy or a rider on homeowners?

Do not try to claim a loss of your drone due to a collision with a bird. Be extra careful with Statefarm as well, read the fine prints. It is safe to claim it as a crash, nothing more and nothing less.

The yes program is extends your warranty, get all the possible insurance that you can get, better safe than sorry.

Check on getting a day insurance on top of your other insurance that you will get in the future. An excellent day insurance is Verifly.
