I saw posts showing parts of this working with the ST16 and the stock sunshade but nothing on the complete hood. I took a chance and bought the complete kit. Yes, it does work with the ST16 with no modifications.
This is the complete Hoodman Drone Aviator Hood Kit which Includes the HAV1 and HAV1E. I purchased mine from Amazon for $60. Amazon.com : Hoodman Drone Aviator Hood Kit (Includes HAV1 & HAV1E) : Camera & Photo
The HAV1 comes with 3 straps. I thought I may have to cut off the horizontal strap but I got creative and just clipped it out of the way leaving the remaining vertical straps.
The elastic flap on the side allows your fingers through the side to touch the on screen controls.
You even have access to the neck strap mounts. With a little adjustment the HAV1 fits just inside the mounts. Stick movement is fine. I have access to the D-Pads, Snap Photo, and Record Video buttons. The only button which is a little difficult to access is the ST16 power slider.
The straps also don't cover the cooling fans. I strapped them over the ST16 handle but you could pass them through it.
Hope this helps demonstrate this does indeed work. Personally I like this hood, I can clearly see the screen in bright sunlight. I also wear readers and what I'm using now are the ThinOptics readers which just sit on my nose, no arms. I can glance down, see the screen through the readers, and look up to see the drone.
