This project is a way to repurpose a defective OEM Breeze charger. Mine was not defective so I was more cautious separating the upper and lower halves of the charger as they are sonically welded together. I used a small cutoff wheel for a Dremel rotary tool to cut along the weld line.

This shows the bottom cover removed.

This is the top portion. Remove the 3 screws holding the CB to the top cover.

This shows the CB unmounted and the 4 small screws that must be removed to uninstall the connector body.

This shows the LED CB that needs to be removed. It is mounted on plastic posts that were melted under pressure to make a pad. Carefully cut or break the flashing and gently pry the CB off of the posts.

It should now look like this.

Now unplug the 4 wire connector from the main CB.

You should be left with this to connect to your Breeze battery.

Connected to a third party charger with balance board. Where the clips are mounted to the outside terminals you can solder permanent leads with bananna plugs.

Don’t toss it, repurpose it!

This is exactly what I will do if I can find a defective charger. I've been watching for a few days on the internet. None have shown up. Sooner or later, one will show.

Mine was not defective, but I had two chargers. That is why I was very careful disassembling the unit. If need be I have parts to repair the other charger. I have searched and cannot find the male connector for the Breeze except in the OEM charger. Since I had two I put together the DIY to show the steps for others.

Your post would make a good addition to the "Drop Box" project. Are you going to add it? I already renamed the existing folder in the Drop Box to "Dual Purpose Charger Mod". I was hoping your Post could become something like a great "Stand-Alone Charger Mod" option.

Good idea! I’ll convert it to a pdf and add it.
