Welcome.
I have a problem with a software update on my H520E drone.
When I go into the update tab I have this different tab appearance. When I want to update I have a green icon and in a moment there is an error message. What is the problem with such interface only this 1 when updating and all others look normal. I am posting pictures below. Thank you for the hint. 20241129_190536 (Medium).jpg20241129_190613 (Medium).jpg20241129_190559 (Medium).jpg

You would get that indication on the original H520 if you were in a location different from the last time an update was made. The issue is the update APP remembers the WiFi it used last time, and does not recognize if that WiFi is no longer in range. It does not matter if the currently available WiFi is correct and selected for the rest of the controller. The controller and the Update APP are completely independent when it comes to WiFi selection. If you think this could be the issue, refer to H520 UpdatePilot Anomaly for a more complete discussion.

Enrico

That is the H520E.
It appears that the first software version is still installed on this drone.

It is necessary to install the latest DataPilot-Version manually... over USB or Micro-SD-Card.

After that the updates will work over WIFI. This means then in the menu it is not just Update, but Version.

Best Grus from Switzerland,
enrico

Thank you for the hints but unfortunately when I try to turn on the "datapilot" file the screen (photo) immediately comes in. Any other I can open without any problem just not this one. 20241201_222322 (Medium).jpg

Delete the existing Datapilot app and download the latest version from the YYuneec website and install it.
Then click on “Version” in the settings and update everything.
Alternatively, find an H520E pilot in your area to help you, as some updates require you to connect the remote control to the OFDM module via USB cable.

Best regards, Enrico

Welcome.
I finally have a moment of time so I can get on with the installation. As Enrico advised, I have removed the existing Data Pilot application, downloaded the one indicated and now after restarting the controller I only have a green screen and unfortunately but as I have the application on the card and when I turn it on and enter where the DataPilot is copied I have no way to install it because it states that there is no such program to open it and through the USB cable as I connect to the controller and laptop it wants to install on the computer and not on the ST16. How do I install Data Pilot correctly? Please give me step by step instructions, thank you

You need to download the DataPliot APK file. It may be a zip file so you may have to unpack it to a 16GB sd card. Place the card in the controller and then do the install from the Android menu.

Hi. That's exactly what I'm doing, only when I go into Android I have nothing, I go into Settings ->Home and I only have the Launcher and Upgrade icon (Android icon) and before there was still DataPilot here (before I removed it) and now unfortunately that's it.

Please send a picture or screenshot of the screen that has only Launcher and Upgrade icon.

Is this a continuation of the same controller/issue as discussed in How to install new firmware on ST16E ?

Here you go, in the pics everything is visible and I have a dilemma because I follow the instructions but when I unzip the downloaded file on the card, insert into the ST16 nothing happens. In the picture the file on the card and after entering android :(

Thank you very much for the file, it actually helped but unfortunately there is no DataPilot2 file only DataPilot, what is the difference between them and where can I download DataPilot2 from?

The DataPilot2 Version 2.2.28 APK can be downloaded from Dropbox.

NOTE 1: the APK file name for DataPilot2 is still just "DataPilot.APK". The installed APK will state the correct name after it is installed.

NOTE 2: I found the file in a folder marked H520E-RTK. I think (hope) the H520E and H520E-RTK use the same DataPilot, but it would be great if someone can confirm that assumption.
@polskipilot, you have posted threads related to both H520E and H520E-RTK. Do you have both models? If so you, can compare the Datapilot 2 between them?

Hello.
Apologies for such a long period of non-response on my part but first it was Christmas and then New Year and so it came down like it was "Chinese New Year" :).
Yes I own 2 drones H520E and RTK, I will compare the files but if I can it in some separate thread, now unfortunately I still have the problem to connect the drone H520E with the camera E90X. After downloading the file from DROPBOX I installed it but unfortunately something is not quite right because it does not connect to the camera seemingly the green bar goes and there is info about no memory card in the camera but no image and when I want to check DataPilot it goes straight back to the main panel. In addition to this, it is as if something is spilled at the camera mounting location (also pictured). What is still wrong?

"...something is not quite right because it does not connect to the camera"
Does the camera mount and bind normally to the other H520/ST16S kit?

"...when I want to check DataPilot it goes straight back to the main panel."
It is not clear what you mean. It is normal for the controller to return to the main flight panel if you click the "DataPilot" icon as shown on the menu screen of your third image. Does the other ST16S behave the same way?

"..it is as if something is spilled at the camera mounting location (also pictured). What is still wrong?"
It is difficult to see what is there. Does the mount use the same jelly filled dampers that often leaked on the earlier, slide mount C23/E90 cameras?

Yes I've swapped cameras between drones and in the other one both work, so ma sure the problem is in the drone.
The other ST16S works normally
I don't think it's the dampers, I've looked at them carefully and there are no signs of damage.

Does a match of the original drone, original camera and the second ST16S work together?

Hello.
Well unfortunately but it turned out that the problem is in the controller. After plugging in the second one from another H520E and after the bind it connected to the camera without any problem, so the problem is in the ST16S software. In the working controller I can enter the Data Pilot without any problem and there is no problem going to the update, except that on the yellow background there is this message:
Vehicle did not respond to command: Bind Spektrum receiver

It sounds like doing a factory reset on the problem controller, followed by reloading the FlightMode 2.0, would be a reasonable next step.
