The small backup battery on the GNSS module (aka GPS module) is for keeping processor clock alive and hold received satellite data.
If the drone is often in use it should be no problem. If it was longer stored without being powered on the battery may be discharged.
This is how to check the backup battery without opening the case of the Typhoon H.
