Probably because I had not flown the Q in over 6 months, the gimbal was off kilter. I will put her up in the air again today and see how it goes.

This is a known problem for CGO3 cameras. The reason is that there is no calibration tool available. The calibration in GUI works only for CGO2 not for CGO3. Also there is no calibration from ST10 like for Typhoon H with ST16.
What you can do is to hold the camera in a not levelled position near the maximum angle. Then switch on an hold it, let try the gimbal take a wrong position. Then switch off and switch on again without manipulating and let it level. Seem that the accelerometer will calibrate again after a strong miscalibration. This procedure did help in my case. Do it on your own risk.

Thanks h-elsner, I will try that. I also had a Neewer ND filter on it, that I now have taken off. Adds weight to the front of the camera.
It was off a little till I did a turn (yaw) and then it went really bad. Did get a couple of decent pics of what I was after.
