Even as an engineer I saw this happen all the time because of seniority and one-up-man-ship, not because of the individual's actual contribution to the project. I never really liked working with other engineers. It's as if their ideas are always better than yours because they went to better school or have been playing engineer longer. Oh, and in the event your idea is a good one and is accepted into the project, it's only because you got lucky. They always have to be right. Don't get me started on engineers!
