I bought this a while ago to try on my H. Lou Ming (youtube) did some testing a while back and this little puppy
did really well. I had to make my own pigtail with some soldering of connectors and semi rigid coax.

I will try this weekend.

Yes I also saw that video I also was considering going the mini patch route, but I got sidetracked a bit as my TH has gone great distance without alterations from standard, but look forward to seeing your test results as I may still go that route for a bit of added insurance to avoid any prospect of loss of video feed.

Brent what sort of distance was you getting prior to patch antenna update !

The furthest I have been out so far is 1km. Any further and I would have been over a highway. Perfect signal so
I know I haven't maxed out yet.

Ive been contemplating getting that antenna Brent, looking forward to your review. I saw somewhere that you really dont need to put a pigtail on it, just attach as is to the ST16. This way it fits in the case without having to remove it. Can you do a distance test with the tail on and with it off by any chance?

This type of antenna is what the ST16+ has on it now as well.

I used one for a couple of months on and off, you can find the cables already made up on ebay if you do not want to make one yourself e.g. Aomway Antenna Extension Cable RP-SMA Plug to SMA Jack - orangeRX -uk FPV

Using certainly demonstrates the original ST16 needs an external telemetry antenna.
