I dusted off my Yuneec Q500+, I have not flown this for over 5 years. I still like the drone a lot, but the camera isn't very good. What are the options for upgrading the camera on this unit? I know that it is possible to mount the 4K camera yuneec at once sold to this drone, but I don't know how good they are.
What might be the best way to upgrade this camera, and would it even be worth it.

U might be thinking of the go pro for q500G go pro edition. For that I think the go pro 3 and 4 is what will work. Ur best option is likely a cgo3 if it’s currently fitted with one of the cgo2 cameras

What camera do you currently have?
Are you certain your Q500 is a Q500+?

The Q500+ came with a CGo3.
If the drone is a Q500+ it should already have the mount contacts to allow normal use of a CGo3.
If the contacts are not built into the mount, there is a pig-tail attachment used to adapt the CGo3 to the belly plug that powered other cameras.
If your camera is already a CGo3 it is a 4K. None of the later Yuneec cameras are suitable for the Q500 series.

Here in Europe at least all the q500 and q500+ models that I have seen are fitted with 1080p cgo2 cameras . Did the q500+ come with a cgo3 in the states and if so why did a 4k q500 model come after

Yeah. I think you are right. Never mind my previous post.
Thanks! Glad we could clear that up. I'm still pretty new to these models, so I'm just trying to piece all the regional differences together. Appreciate your help on here!
Out of curiosity, I've noticed on the newer models (like the E90) that the US software always seems far quicker to connect than the EU versions. But strangely, my Q500 video feed connects incredibly fast, even though it's supposed to be on UK/EU firmware.
Why do you think the connection is so snappy on this one? Is it just the way the older tech handles things, or is there a chance it might actually have US firmware flashed onto it already without me realizing?
