Hi all.. question... Just noticed on my q500 the gimbal camera has one connector to the drone and 3 stray black wires.. they come from the connection plate on the camera but don't go anywhere... ??

Those are the infamous "3 black wires". Bad reputation because they have resulted in permanent damage to a great many Q500 drones. They were meant to be a convienient way to connect the camera without using the plug at the back of the camera. If the wires are loose and uncontrolled, you will eventually sustain damage either to your camera or to the drone. The wires should be repaired, secured or removed.

Ah....so nothing to worry about then as long as I make them safe

Yes. Be sure there are no unprotected pieces left on either the mount plate or the gimbal board. BOTH ends are powered when the camera is in service. There are often a couple of bare wire strands left on the solder spots and pulled out of the wires. Those cause shorts also.

Thanks for the info... great help 👍

I have a problem with one of my Q500 cameras. I have two of these drones, but I am having trouble with the one camera,it won’t tilt. On my first drone it works perfectly but on the second one it doesn’t tilt but the camera works great! Any thoughts on how I can fix this issue?

Your description can be read two ways. It sounds like you have 2 drones and two cameras. Then it becomes unclear if both cameras work but only on one of the drones or if both drones will work, but with only one of the cameras.
1.) Do both drones work with both cameras. (pretty sure that's a "No".)
2.) Do both cameras work with only one drone?
3.) Do both drones work with only one camera?

It’s 2 my first drone works with both cameras, but the Q500 I just got and the camera doesn’t tilt. But the camera video works. I’m thinking the second drone needs an update or a gimbal calibration. The second drone doesn’t work with the first camera either.

This is not a firmware/update/calibration issue. It is a problem with the PWM signal circuit. Note the video you mentioned is a function of the camera, the tilt is a function of the gimbal. The camera and gimbal are two things built into one unit for convenience, but a problem with one seldom affects the other.
Your issue is with the gimbal only. The issue can be a lot of things, but two stand out as the most common.
1.) Stuck contact on the camera mount. If you have a 4K and are using the "hot shoe" camera mount, you can check to see if there is a stuck contact. For this, refer to:
Stuck Mount Contacts

2.) Damaged transistor on the Q500 mainboard. The solution for almost all such events is to swap the PWM wire from the failed transistor to its installed spare. Some very rare events you have to actually move the transistor.
For this, refer to:
Q500 Series Camera Tilt Transistor

But why does both CG03 work on my first q500 drone but not on the second Q500 drone, neither one works on tilt. But they both work on my first drone funny. It has to be something wrong with the second drone. Sorry for my slow response my wife was hit walking in a crosswalk, new driver on his phone

Because the transistor and the mount contacts in the first drone work. Either the transistor or a mount contact in the second drone does not work. You have to fix the problem in the second drone before either camera will work normally on the second drone.

Hope the wife is OK.
