received a Typhoon H480 as a gift, not sure what to do with it and if it's worth refurbishing

Hi, I just received a Typhoon H480 as a gift. I am wondering if it's worth refurbishing and getting it to fully working condition. It seems to have a very minor issue: just one broken arm.
I am wondering about what I should do before the first flight. I know that I should check the battery and its condition.
What else should I do besides that? What kind of calibrations should I do, as well as possibly a firmware update that is ideal for reliability?
Also, I no longer have the charger, and I'm wondering about which cheap replacement I should get, or is it better to go for the OEM used one?

1) Typhoon H drone is easy to repair and modular constructed. Camera gimbal is hard to repair and/or expensive. Do first test flight without camera.
2) Only a broken arm - I would repair.
3) Before first flight:
- check flight logs for past problems / crashes (seems there was one or more). Archive existing flight logs.
- ceate a new model and bind camera and drone to this one.
- do compass and accelerometer calibration.
- stay away from FW updates
- the stock charger is not good. Use a balance charger for LiPo that has Storage function. Most of the aftermarket charger have that, also cheap ones.
4) The most common failure point is the pilot. For diagnosis use the Typhoon H GUI. Check if all sensors are OK.

Thanks, I will check the error logs. I think I'm getting some sort of sensor error. I already bought the sc4000-4 charger and I already have a balance charger which has storage function.

There are different options for using an aftermarket charger for the Typhoon H battery.

The GUI program says Sonar failed and I also get an error on the screen for obstacle avoidance.
I am guessing that it might be disconnected

I fixed the sonar/obstacle avoidance issue. However, now I have a remote-related issue; I think there might be something wrong with the hardware. I tried charging the remote with a high-quality micro USB cable for two hours, and the results are surprising: the battery is now completely flat, and the screen keeps showing that it's charging even though the charger is not connected at all.

What was the charge level at the start of you initiating the charging cycle? If it was below 20% the charging circuit can sometimes not the battery.

If you have a charger other than the OEM that came with the drone you can use an EC2 adapter to charge the ST16’s battery. If it allows single cell charging of Li-ion batteries use that setting. If not set it up for charging a 3 cell NiCad or 3 cell NiMH to get it close to full charge. At that point you then check it in the ST16 and attempt to finish charging it.
