Can anyone explain the US FAA Laws Vs State / City Laws for operation of SUA aircraft? All the sources I find on this seem to indicate the only laws that matter are the FAA Federal Laws. I live in a city that says it's illegal to fly my Q500 anywhere except one small dog park which has no significant photographic quality. Any clarity would be appreciated. I want to do the right thing but, it's looking like I should possibly return the Q500 as I can't fly it anywhere.

FAA clearly states their Regulations and in them state to "Always follow your local State and Local Laws, "Which" May vary differently" They can only control "Airspace" at certain levels, but can not, nor will they get involved in City or State and Local Laws.
