Online weather stations do good jobs these days of providing us with current conditions and forecasts. Since I am interested in weather and weather records for other reasons as well as flying, several years ago I started buying home weather stations. I'm now on my 3rd "good" station, and it's the proverbial cat's meow. No moving parts except the rain collector dump mechanism. Highly accurate, but all readings can be re-calibrated if necessary.
It uses ultrasonic to determine wind speed and direction. It shows current indoor, outdoor, and other sensors temperature and if the temps are rising or falling. It uses both solar and battery power. Wind speed and max wind gust speeds, Humidity, Barometric pressure, rain, "feels like" temp, Dew point... and it records results. Connects to internet, and can send realtime 24/7 info to servers such as Weatherunderground, etc.
Weather conditions affect our drones ability to perform, and pilots, both manned and unmanned, need to be aware and incorporate weather into their flight plans.
GOOD FLYING!
