FYI
Following many attempts at getting a good compass calibration and failing the lot, the GPS unit was replaced with a new one and the bird flew again perfectly.
During the efforts to achieve this the skin off both thumbs wore away requiring bandages to cover the damage, gloves to be worn during future rotations, use of a very sensitive cheap compass to find out the limits of magnetic influence of my wheelchair motors, a bubble of about 6 inches diameter was the result around each motor. You need to know these things.
BUT......
When starting a new a compass calibration with the new GPS unit, 'Calibration' touched on the ST16 followed by Compass, dit dit sounds, lift the bird look at the under motor leds , wait a second for the first pair of leds tp start flashing, then the success sound came from the bird!
Do I fly????
Call to Hayden ( Yuneec Australia) in Queensland, answer came in the affirmative..............Whew Sorry for being so 'wordy'
