Not sure. It might also cause the GPS location to show incorrectly

That location is near a Trident sub base.
I suspect it's a test to verify that GPS guided incoming get lost.

Such GPS outages occur periodically across the U.S. in different sectors. They are system tests performed by the military and FAA for various reasons. The effects are generally most pronounced at ground levels closest to the center of the test location.

To answer a previous question: it is possible to experience a total loss of GPS or fail to acquire, but this is a non issue for those that fly in Angle mode. Position hold and way point flying can be disrupted but our aircraft have no problem flying when navigating manually.
