So I ran into an issue with one of my st16s controllers and my H520 with an E90 camera on it.
Everything is fine, except when I try to control the camera. When turning the knob, the voice states the drone is changing flight modes. It does this each time I turn the knob fully left or right.

I have updated the controller firmware and software, but I have not updated the drone's firmware yet.
Could this be outdated firmware on the drone?

Has the controller ever had ST16 firmware on it?
Do the ARM LEDs change colors when the mode change is announced?
Does anything else change state on RC Monitor when you move the knob?
A screenshot of the firmware page would be good.

What is the rest of the story? I ask because the thread title implies you were about to ask about something else.

For me this sounds like a ST16 Problem with channel assignment. A good advice is to check the HW monitor but this is the input. Since we not have an output monitor on ST16S we must check the TLOG file to see what the drone receives.

Steps:
1) Do a dedicated test where you know what you have done.
2) Download the related (latest) TLOG file from ST16.
3) Open q500log2kml > Settings > Data analysis > Sensor data PX4 as CSV file must be checked.
4) Menu File > Open PX4 sensor file > select the TLOG file and open it.
5) Menu File > Open PX4 sensor file > select the CSV file with the same name as the TLOG file before and open it.
6) Scroll right until you see the channel values.

I don't know if channel assignment for H520 is the same as for H480 but if you turn the knob, only one channel should change and schould have no other influence on other channels.

OK, forget TLOG files. After thinking I remember that you can see the channels live in QGroundControl. This is the better diagnosis tool exactly for this. Connect your PC with camera WiFI. QGC should automatically login.
Analyze tools or Vehicle settings show channel data and flight modes.

No, just the backward controls. I will get more info and post it later today.
The ST16s was brand new, and I have three of them. They all did the same thing.

I will give this a try later today.
