Is it just me that’s getting annoyed of rudder movement abruptly, when turning?
Now that I have been flying the TH+ for a straight consecutive days, even on the weekends (4 hours a day) I am slowly nitpicking its flight and gimbal characteristics. And let’s not forget the dampers, mine are now deformed, fearing that the camera is going to fall out one of these days and or cause a jellying effect during flight.

Is it just me that cannot get the CCC “intelligent mode” to function properly? (Ohh wait that’s @Ty Pilot)

And is it just me, waiting for a new FW flash and NFZ unlock patch?

It may not be just you on all of that, but on some? Perhaps. The rudder movement abrupt? I find it to be pretty good. I came to Yuneec from DJI and really liked the way the Phantom flew or possibly; (likely) it was that I got used to it? When I got the original Typhoon H I did not like the controls settings at all but found that Yuneec did give us some ability to adjust on that model. In the end the Typhoon flew fine but it needed a little more tweaking.

When the Plus came out I was over-joyed as it finally had a feel more to my liking and while there are some things I would tweak with the Plus - all in all the flying qualities fine for my purposes.

The gimbal controller - I am 50-50 on it, could it be better? Maybe, but here again I have learned to work with it.

Dampeners - no question; looks like Yuneec under-sprung the C23 in the Dampener department. However, as horrible as they look, I have seen no video issues as yet.

Video Lag? Could it be your conditions? Distance out? I am rarely out past 1200 feet and I have no issues.

CCC? Its not just you - no excuse for Yuneec now, three months into this thing, CCC should work, it doesn't.

The NFZ thing, I am sure there are others that are being squeezed out of work by this and here again, Yuneec should have this front and center on their "To Do" list. They have produced what could be their flagship drone and the clock is ticking.

Dear Yuneec, if any of your people read this forum (and I know they don't) , this is a microcosm of your core supporters and customers. How many flyers here are sitting on the fence with money in hand waiting? More than you know; are waiting for this bird to get 100%. But we've already seen a few give up the wait or start off with a bad experience and go elsewhere. Time is fleeting, your over the target - what the heck are you doing?

Is it just me that’s getting annoyed of rudder movement abruptly, when turning? Is it just me that gets annoyed with the gimbal control slider that is is a tad speedy going up and down?

Is it just me that’s getting a bad video lag?

Agree on most but got my drone back from Yuneec today fully callibrated and reinstalled with the latest firmware and actually managed to get a CCC mission going by creating my mission press play and slightly pressing the forward stick until the bird start moving. Didn't have much time to play with it becasue it was already dark so have no idea if you can control the camera. but IT WORKED!

What I really would like to see is a way to set the speed on a mission and some sort of cruise control with free moving camera control on a mission.

( I think if you are at the first waypoint you stick command forward and at the last waypoint you stick command backwards to start the mission )

It might just be excitement and the darkness, but it actually felt like it flew much smoother than before without any jerky movement and so on.

@mbernholdt I have gotten the CCC to work twice on the Plus out of maybe 15 tries, it will be interesting to see if yours will be able to reliably perform the CCC again. On the Typhoon H, the speed was set by how high the stick was raised - just a little was slow and to the top was faster. Look forward to hearing if you can fly another. Oh and for the record, what Firmware are you on?

I think there are a lot that have delayed purchase of the H Plus due to product immaturity. When a model is missing features found to be critical with the original model there’s little impetus to buy a “new-improved”model selling at a higher price that will force the owner to work harder while accomplishing less.

What so many of you are now grousing about are exactly the things I warned of prior to the release. As long as people are buying the Plus Yuneec will be less than motivated to implement corrective action. What will get their attention will be a slow down of sales accompanied with scores of messages on their Facebook page telling them why people aren’t buying, and what it will take for them to do so.

You know I like larger hexas that are stable in wind and that I want one of these HP's, but you expressed exactly why I don't have one today. You've seen videos of my DIY units and how silky smooth the movements are in any direction. Problem is I never moved beyond the Hero 4 for cameras; really didn't care to spend $$$ so that's the main reason I buy RTF with cameras. One thing I don't like about the H480 is the FC outputs a minimum 5 degree tilt from the smallest stick movement. That makes it jerky on the initial movement. I figured the HP would have changed that. No?

I still might get one after buying a small drone first since they are sub $1k, but will wait to see what Yuneec does. I find it hard to believe I can buy a $699 300 gram drone that flies missions, but a 2nd generation Typhoon costing $1k more doesn't.

I have, since the day I bought my Plus been signing the praises of the flying of the Plus in comparison to the 480. Now if the new firmware has done something to one of the other posters - that may be but, I am here to tell you the Plus makes a 480 look; and feel, like a Conestoga wagon pulled by oxen in comparison. It is very smooth, especially in the yaw department which; is why I am a little taken by the OPs statement. All I can figure is something is a miss with his.

At this point it seems like Yuneec is slowly addressing the issues; we've already seen among other things the return of Team Mode, and it would take an entire video to explain how advanced the camera and camera controls are over the 480 and; if @mbernholdt is correct, the CCC may be back already but the jury is out on that one. And while I am certainly not one to sing the praises of Yuneec necessarily, to put it in context, I haven't seen so much back end support on ANY Yuneec product as they have done on the Plus.

While I am mindful of what all is wrong with the Plus and agree that it is unbelievable that a company can roll out a Product this unfinished - it is Yuneec and we knew they would do this. I took a chance early and still don't regret it, the main things I wanted over and above the 480 have been about 90% fulfilled - the camera; well it is amazing, and the flying is vastly improved. We knew the Plus was aimed at videography and photography while they kept the more working stuff in the 520 so if anyone is disappointed at the lack of mapping and so forth - that was in the cards. Looking at the rest of the market and the other options even today I would still get the Plus.

TyPilot,

You eloquently expressed the other side of the equation. The Plus camera is much better than the 480 but a couple things are still missing for me. Cruise Control being one of them. I do think Yuneec will have to abandon their concept of restricting mission planning to just the 580 though. If they elect to maintain that position they will be the only maker in the class that does so and force people that desire mission planning and videography to buy less expensive hardware.

@Ty Pilot my gimbal dial is probably at the same setting as yours (stock) let's take you 50/50 travel rate this is still too much travel speed, we should be able to cut the 50% expo down a bit for cinematic effect.

- My video lag, man.... I don't go off the grid, the farthest that I've traveled today is 1800FT (This unaccepted for advertised as a Professional sUAS)
- The throttle is fine for me, but the rudder on that left stick, when turning, and maintaining the cursor on target while filming is hard, one slight movement it jerks and the shot is ruined.

My telemetry flight patch, below.

- CCC, I am anxious to use it, but I am not willing to take a chance right now.

But @mbernholdt might just have a solution that is worth looking into, I too have re-flashed my controller and drone, I might give this a try.

@PatR I wished, I spent time reading about the pros and cons about this craft before buying it... BUT! I have this personal thing about DJI, don't me wrong, I love their product, but...... I am on other personal level, with them. I really want to ride the FB banwagon, but with little time that I have, I find this forum and you guys are a great source of knowledge.

@NorWiscPilot hahaha!! Sure thing, bro!

You have no idea of how personal it is between me and DJI. They cost me a bunch of money for non completion of a heavy lift custom build because of a new, defective FC. Months of communications did nothing to resolve even the FC. They make some nice hardware much of the time but ethically, IMO, they are low life’s.

I hear ya... Mine was a matrice 600 and Inspire 1 V2, both down the drain, and never again I will get a DJI for me (however my son is still a fan) but it is what it is. It hurts, but I have to keep moving on.

I finally did my first CCC with a simple 4 waypoints (it took me a while to figure it out) and Following your stick description, however there are no option to hover or land once the mission has been completed and question, how do you guys save your CCC missions?

Interesting RPR, maybe you could answer; what Firmware version are you on? I have not had consistent results when using the CCC. Once you are done with the mission you can exit the the task mode by flipping your flight mode switch, for instance if you are in Angle mode, switch to Sport Mode momentarily and then back to Angle and this will disable CCC and any other task mode you may be performing, you can also select the Home Mode and it will do the same and fly home. If you want to save the mission; after you create your last waypoint, instead of going to 'Next' select 'Save', this will prompt you to give the mission a name and it will then be save to a folder. Then when you tap the CCC task mode Icon, select 'Manage CCC Mission'

No worries, thanks @mbernholdt so are you able to do it over and over and would you say that CCC is now fixed?
Had tree successful ccc on this firmware where I just flew thevwaypoints and executed so in my opinion yes

And just for the he'll of it I took it out for a quick ccc test.

We have a little storm in denmark today so could at the same time see how it handles high wind.

CCC flew fine and the wind only took a little more on the battery. had it up in 120m the max altitude here in DK.

So I'm pretty happy atm. Screenshot_20180921-194345.jpeg
