when I go to page two of calibration of st 16 with the 8 red squares the j3 switch will not pass, on page three moving it up and down turns it green to pass, returning to control the drone when I start it the drone it makes a rapid beeping sound and will not start motors, if I apply slight up elevator (j3 switch the beeping stops and I can fly normally. The beeping stops, I am afraid to fly this way, upon settings screen for controller the j3 control is a hair out of the center line, I guess my main question is : Is there a manual trim like my rc aircraft controllers ?

I'm assuming you're using the "secret" control calibrations.

If J3 is not calibrating then you probably need to either "stir the stick" for a while (not insanely) or use an appropriate contact cleaner on the pot.

You are right to be afraid to fly this way. That beeping is the H trying to tell you that a control is not centered, and that it is therefore unsafe to start motors, because there will be unwanted input as soon as you do so, which could have disastrous results.

Cleaning the stick pots and recalibrating afterwards usually resolves this (don't forget that the cam tilt and speed sliders have to be at 50% before you start for this to work). The beeping won't be there if that has worked and all controls are centering properly, but it's another good reason to always stir the sticks a bit, then check your hardware monitor before you turn on the craft for the first flight of the day.

That video is excellent ! I had no idea those rubber covers were there to let you do stick cleaning from the rear ! :)

Thanks so much, the second calibration seemed to "take" all squares pass and no more beeping, going to take it out to a tall grass area and try it out, for what its worth, maybe coincidentally, this all started after I switched from metric to imperial. PS is there a recommended item for spraying the pots for cleaning ?
