Latest info from Yuneec regarding repairs

Chuck McConnell:
After reading these posts I regret my choice of Yuneec for my first serious UAVs; I purchased preowned Typhoon H and a Q500. The main appeal to me was the aerial platform stability for videography and the built-in Android screen on the controllers (I am an app hater). As I mentioned in previous posts, I chose not to send my damaged "H" to Yuneec but instead went with Carolina Dronz who I've worked with before. That was back in November. They, like many other repair shops, have been unable to get the parts they need. The damage to the H body is fixed but repairing the CG03+ camera has them stymied. I am about to ask them to ship me the drone and broken camera back to me. It may as well sit on my workshop counter than on theirs. I am tempted to buy a used CGO3+ online but am uncertain that I have the skills to install and pair it to the ST16 controller. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks, Airyal

As I am a front rookie with under an hour of total air time, I'd strongly refer you to others on this forum....

Do a forum search, there is someone on eBay in US which will repair CG03+ cameras and ship them back, it's been posted many times.

And Yuneec wants people to spend $2600.00 on a new H3.

Sucker born every minute.

Thing that gets me is the few that have directed their anger ir displeasure at Vertigo. Vertigo had nothing to do with the situation becoming what it is and, frankly, I’m surprised they stepped forward to take over the warranty repairs.

Fact is, Yuneec is following exactly the same path Chinese gas RC engine manufacturers did when they were up against the financial ropes. They kept shifting repairs to the next sucker in line, none of whom got paid for their work, until the manufacturers closed their doors.

Those caught up in this crap need to file a legal action against Yuneec to at least obtain a judgement against them. Wait much longer and there may be nobody left to file against. Once Yuneec folds and files you’re going to be out of luck, and likely your drone if it hadn’t been returned yet.

Hey Chuck,

We're going to have to get back to you later on this. The repair techs are not available at the moment.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

From what I see in our system Yuneec should be sending you a new drone but I just want to verify with them first.

Is there anything else I can do for you right now?
Chuck McConnell

What I surmise is that Vertigo agreed to handle outstanding repairs for reasons unknown. Most likely reason is to have obtained some dealer advantage in an agreement with Yuneec. We can also surmise Vertigo was promised some level of payment for labor along with parts support in that agreement.

One thing we can be sire of is that Yuneec is being no more forthcoming with Vertigo than they have been with the customers regarding timelines. When Vertigo says they have told you all they know I’m sure that’s all they have. They have no ability to leverage Yuneec for anything. If Yuneec inventories are depleted, and market conditions strongly suggest they are, Yuneec’s ability to ship out replacement product is totally dependent upon the remaining inventory available, a condition Vertigo has no knowledge of. If Yuneec has depleted inventory far enough their only option could end up buying back unsold units from dealers. If such is the case some folks may be in for a long wait, a wait longer than Yuneec has plans for to stay in business.

Exacerbating whatever they are doing is the Corona virus situation. There are news reports of some Chinese companies being unable to pay their bills or their help because of it. The companies with the weakest financial balance sheets will be the ones most affected.

Just thinkin’, you might want to edit out the name of the Vertigo employee. Yuneec doesn’t like having any of their laundry aired and a name gives them a target.

Hmmm, let me think about spending $2600.00. If I purchase one (not) I could reasonably expect not to have parts and batteries in a years time, oh and who's going to repair it? Did I mention repair, that means it would be in their hands (I mean on the shelf) for at least 6 month if not more.
In two or so years, these will be oversized paper weights. Maybe I'll reassemble the drone to fit a helium balloon?!????

I'll get a h520 before I will get a h3. But I'm looking to assemble my own drone first.

Just got off telephone with B.Shelton regarding my Breeze. He verified what Vertigo said yesterday,I would be getting a new drone as mine was "unrepairable".A couple of weeks out ,he said. Happy, excited, but we will believe it when it's here, and I find out it works.

Here's a question for one you more experienced pilot /owners. IF Yuneec replaces my Breeze as I've been told,as mine is "unrepairable". Can someone in group look at my flight love and determine what happened? It doesn't appear that Vertigo or Yuneec is going to volunteer any information, but I haven't really pressed. I assume that telling me after 4 months that I would be receiving a replacement (none as of yet and crickets on notification of shipment) .easy for me to email a zip file of flight log. Thanks,Chuck
