Log book

Date, location, aircraft serial #, flight time, max distance, max, altitude, battery used, battery capacity left, winds, notes/comment.
Do it in Excel.

Also log battery recharges, date, capacity returned to pack, percentage used, and cell IR for each cell and average for pack

I take notes in the field about wind speed, temperature, exact location, unexpected events, battery number, etc. Then when I get home I open my log book spreadsheet and fill it in foe each individual flight.
Time at motor start;
Aircraft used;
Location;
Air temperature;
Wind speed at arms length height - measured by anemometer;
General weather conditions, I.E. Cloudy, hazy sunshine, CAVOK, etc.;
Geomagnetic Field (Kp index);
Flight duration;
Max height;
Max distance from ground station;
No. of satellites acquired;
Down link quality;
Detected Wi-Fi sources;
Quality of landing;
Battery number;
Battery voltage at start;
Battery voltage at end;
Battery charge cycles;
Notes.

This is not exhaustive, but you get the idea.

Hey, even real pilots don't put in all that info in their log books.:eek:

You didn't put what you had for breakfast?

It’s pretty simple really, obtain a Standard Pilot’s Logbook. That’s what the FAA is accustomed to seeing, that’s what the FAA and NTSB expects to see. Everything else you want to log, put it an airframe, avionics, and power plant maintenance log.

The FAA says you can also keep them all electronic now. I read that somewhere on their site. I guess they're realizing that nobody knows how to use pen and paper anymore.
