Microphone input level

When I turn the mic on, the prop wash is so loud it distorts really bad, I would like to know if there is a way to muffle it or turn the input down so the recordings don't sound as bad.

I think it's an 'on/off' thing. I haven't found a level adjustment. I only turn the mic on while using the Steady Grip.

Yeah, it is on/off, no in between and that sucks. Was just hoping someone got creative some sort of way to balance the sound out because as it stands, audio recording with quad in use is a bad joke.
