Real Sense, Obstacle Avoidance, and Task Mode

There's something I'm not totally clear on...

From what I understand, Real Sense is not active when using one of the task modes. Will the ultrasonic obstacle avoidance work in the task modes? Or are all fail safes sort of off during those operations?

I doubt any avoidance is active in special modes. The ultrasonic is for low altitude and generally you wouldn't want to be close to ground or anything you might hit when doing orbit or CCC. It's best to maintain a good buffer zone of altitude. However, I can't say this definitively since I have seen no documentation or field trials to verify this. Until we know for sure I will continue to allow lots of vertical buffer.
