Reset of ST16s and reinstall DataPilot

Hello Steve,

Is this the same basics for doing a factory reset for the ST16S for an H Plus also?

And how can I get the H Plus firmware to reinstall back onto the ST16S?

One more question, you had put the H520 firmware on an SD card and put it in to the
ground controller to reinstall? Correct?

Thank

The reset and install are the same. The only difference is the apk file that you use to start the software (firmware) installation.
The apk file is copied to the sd card and installed in the ST16s. You can run it from the card or copy it to the ST16.
To install the H Plus firmware use the file in this link: Yuneec-App-Release.apk

Hello Steve

Can you please send me the H520 Firmware file in the apk link. Like the one in the video.
I want to put H520 firmware on an ST16s just like you did..

Thank you

I can give you the link but the 520 firmware on the ST16s will only work with the 520. It will not work with the H Plus and there is no method of converting the H Plus to the 520 firmware. You have to replace the main board in the H Plus with the main board from a 520 to convert the aircraft.

What are you hoping to accomplish?

That's perfect...
That is exactly what I want to do.. I already have the H520 main board..
So I'm sure you know where I'm going with this.

The remote control no longer displays the camera's SSIDs

The first step is to see if the Camera SSID will show up on other devices, such as a smartphone or your home WiFi.
Also, please tell us of anything that happened between the last time the camera worked correctly, and the first time it did not. Crashes, hard landings, firmware updates, any repairs or modifications, or anything you know of that might be related.

Folks,
I had an interesting problem today with one of my ST-16S controllers. I was going to do a survey with one of my H520s and as I was doing my pre-flight check, all things seemed to work fine, but there was no movement of the camera gimbal. The camera intilized as always with a level horizon; I had a good picture and I was able to format the SD card, but there was no rotation or elevation control with the controller. I switched cameras without any improvment; and then switched to another H520. Still no improvement. I switched to an alternate ST16S with H520 software...and everything worked perfectly on both drones and both cameras. So apparently, the WiFI transmitter/receiver that does gimbal commands was not working. Are the gimbal commands limited to one WiFI modules? Or could it be the let control board? In any event, I got everything ready to fly the survey and it got too windy to fly. Guess it will be even further delayed. Let me know your thoughts as to what I need to trouble-shoot or replace on the faulty controller.
Thanks,
Stephen

Is this a native ST16S or an ST16 with Datapilot loaded? Internals are different,so both are shown below.
Either way, it sounds like a bad SR24 module. Not real hard to swap with another controller or even a drone to give it a check.

It's the native ST16S. Any suggestions as to diagnostics on the SR24, or should I just change it out? I have several ST16S and ST16.
If it were me, I would change out the SR24 in a heartbeat. I guess there is some possibility both antennae are damaged, but not real likely.
There is a fan plug and four(?) screws holding the ventilation over the SR24 (see picture above). Wiggle it out and move it out of the way. I think the module is just held down by double sided foam tape. There are a lot of drones, controllers and even a couple cameras that use the SR24. A big variation in the color and length of the wire, but the connections are always the same, and I've never run into a functional incompatibility.

Can you remove the camera and test if you still can start the motors? If you have only SR24 working (no WiFi) you will lose telemetry but basic commands should be still possible. If not, check binding of the drone or try a rebinding.
If this is not working, than we have a problem with SR24 either in drone or in transmitter.

Thanks for the thoughts on trouble-shooting. When I changed ST16S contollers, everything worked perfectly, so its isolated to the controller. @WTFD suggested just changing out the SR24, so I'll give that a try at this point.
