Hi everyone. I have 3 ST16s controllers, one for Typhoon H Plus and two for H520s. They are all about the same age and are all stored in the same location on the shelves in the garage. All of these have a coating on the front surface that helps with grip, but the coating on one of them has become sticky. Does anyone know of a method (or cleaning agent) that would help to remove the stickiness without damaging the coating?
Thanks,
Stephen

Is IPA Isopropyl alcohol?
I have the same on my Lumix DSLR and some othe things but not on ST16 (luckily).
THe effect is caused by leakage or diffusion of plasticizers from plastic or rubber parts.
Some youtuber recomment so-called orange oil cleaner. Don't know if this helps...

I have had this happen on an ST10+ and an ST16. As @Sheepdog mentioned Isopropyl alcohol will clean this. Big areas use a lint free cloth and small spaces and crevices a swab works well. For edges that a swab cannot get into tweezers with a small piece of lint free cloth works.

Use a product names

SOILOVE Laundry Soil-Stain Remover, found on Amazon.com. This clear liquid is safe on all plastics and will help to easily and quickly remove that annoying stickiness.

Well, as usual, the folks on this forum give good and useful advice. I used isopropyl alcohol initially (until I ran out) and then switched to Simple Green (which has alcohol as the primary ingredient). After about three applications, there was terrific improvement in the "stickiness" and it looks great. Thanks to everyone that forwarded good solutions.
All the best,
Stephen
