I'm wanting to buy a Typhoon H but I'm worried about it running away or getting out of range and not coming back. I want to film in the mountains and over water where it would be difficult to retrieve it. Any help or suggestions please.

Mine works just fine for those kinds of places every day. Stop listening to people that want you to buy a different brand.

It does not matter what make or model. They all can suffer from flyaway.
I have flown my H out over the river and Lake Huron many a time.
