Hey guys, I need some help diagnosing my crash. Video feed wasnt recording at the time of what happened but heres a timeframe. I dont know how to get you guys telemtry data or flight logs let me know the steps and I'll get it posted someone give me a brief guide I'll have them up asap

TH (amazon refurb unit mind you) set up and checks were normal, battery in flush gave me the click it was seated, all new yuneec props secure went around the whole drone twice tugging them, GPS ready, had 10-11 sats, in Angle, ST16 had 90+%, TH was 15.00+ 4 bars, the bird was in the sky for 4 minutes

Take off was fine, I let her hover and establish itself, took up 200+ feet no issues, i got the clips I wanted of my apt, the area around me I end recording after 3:00 to get some stills, I yaw the drone to the left while i move myself to another position, and the ST16 states 5 motor mode as if i lost a prop. It failed to engages its redundancy and save itself and just dropped to the ground like a fluttering rock and proceeded it's death rattle of spinning props as fast as it can to kill me while I try to turn it off

I didnt engage RTH it was above me and drifted over a brick wall 40 feet from my apt, I let the sticks center in the middle for a moment and as it began to descend I throttled up to see if I could get any response or any attempt for it to save itself.

it spun sunk and broke into millions of pieces, gimbal camera, legs landing gear, things inside the drone are rattling as well so may be a total loss unless the cards are in my favor with the Yuneec gods

halp plz? Drone was involved in one previous crash requiring replacing a A arm bracket and a gimbal mount that I replaced myself, i hope this doesnt disqualify me from my warranty on this serious crash she has been flow since that crash and everything was normal until one left turn.

I am also not really sure how to proceed from here, I did the replacement of the A arm and gimbal mount myself- does that violate my warranty? Do I have a chance of getting a new bird or am I walking away from 1k stuck like a chuck.

Put a .txt ext. on the end and it will let you upload and someone will check them out for you.

Update. I'm able to access the files,
The remote file is readable, but the telemetry file is not. Please try to upload the file again. Make sure you are getting the file from the FlightLog directory and then the telemetry folder.

Right, telemetry is not readable. Looks like EncryptedFlightLog. But in Remote, there are some motor cut commands in, looks like during the flight, but I'm not sure due to missing telemetry.
Either you have mistaken the photo button and the red button or you have to check the channel settings. For Ch1, there should nothing else be highlighted than J1 and B1. If another channel is mixed in, then big trouble.

I take stills and or videos with my thumbs on the st-16 if that tells you anything, kill switch at 100+ feet on a 800 machine I've been saving for not likely. I did not even get to take my still picture, I was changing drone location, right stick forward, left stick manually left turn in ANGLE, drone and I are both facing in the same cardinal direction South, then left to face W into the sunset.. As soon as I left stick left to yaw the drone 5 rotor mode and she plummits after 4 minutes of flight time and various other maneuvers..

UPDATE..

I ADDED THE COMPRESSED FLIGHT LOG FOR YOUR VIEWING, THE MOST RECENT LAST EVENT ON EACH WAS MY FINAL FLIGHT

Got the FlightLogs. Thanks. You are right, the Motor Stop commands came AFTER the crash but copter remains in Angle mode (no reaction, maybe cut commands are too short <3sec).
All the trouble starts with Motor 2 was off. Then, after 4sec it came down with nearly constant 9m/s (Data analysis for 1.8s: descend 8.94m/s). All the time flight mode is Angle (3), no Emergency seen. That means it stay on 5 rotor mode and did not cut all motors. So far, so good. Then you took throttle down and it starts to sink fast. Then you gave full power up, but it falls further without reaction any more.
No other special things: GPS OK, no error flags before crash, telemetry ends suddenly 18 sec after crash.

I cut a piece from the telemetry 00043 from from 17:45:59 to 17:46:40 to see it better.

PS: Funny to see the history of the bird:
May 2016: Tests at Yuneec in China
Jan 2017: Someone switched it on in Ontario/CA, no flight
Nov 2017: You got it, flights in Texas

Appreciate the insight. I dont recall the throttle down in that time frame I remember trying to change positions, turning the drone in the air left for the still, then I get 5 rotor mode, looking up to see the issue, releasing sticks to center and then throttle up and no reaction I've watched youtube videos of the H get attacked by birds, losing props and people testing their drone in 5-rotor mode.. My model didnt truly engage or try to save itself from it had I truly lost a prop or something had happen Im not sure why I got 4 previous minutes of flight time b4 the crash then suddenly it comes down

That history of the bird is also funny, was she dormant from those time periods in 2016-2017? This is a refurbished unit also, Im wondering if this is something that plagued an initial buyer and Yuneec just repacked it

I'm not saying, you did something wrong. I was not there. It is only that, the FlightLog shows for me. I have no experiences with 5-rotor-mode and I do not know if stick movements have such influence on that. You are right, there are yaw-stick movements that looks like you want to stop the rotation of the YTH. What's the reason for the rapid descent is still open.

To the history - your firmware is:
Kamera 3.2.26(A)
Gimbal 1.25
Autopilot 1.3
Not that fresh, but clearly newer than in May 2016. So, I think someone in Ontario/CA grabbed it from storage, made firmware update and sold it as refurbished. For me it looks like China Yuneec factory -> Shipped to USA --> Sorage --> firmware update --> sold to you. No owner inbetween. At the end you got a brandnew one, but one of the first. i guess, RC antenna is still not covered by plastic tubes as the newer one have.

br HE

PS: For me it looks like you are an experienced pilot. In this lousy situation I would never think about landing gear. You engaged landing gear at 17:46:09 while it starts to go down.

Appreciate your thoughts, I'm waiting on Yuneec to get back to me about my log files. Hopefully we can get an after christmas miracle. I've been reading up about their recent support and it seems to have been tanking as of recently. This is my first prosumer drone, I got friends with Mavics and Phantoms really sparked my interest and break away from their norm cause it seems like DJI acts a little like Apple of the drone industry, I have experience with R.C, little airhogs and what not and the TH already feels like an extension of myself and my own camera, I plan for legitimate uses for the drone coming the new year, the money Im going to spend on repairs was for the remote pilot class and getting the commercial license lmao.

Come on income tax season
