I see my firmware version on my ST10 + is probably the original. If I update to the latest firmware on the ST10 + would any real benefits make it worth the upgrade? Also, can you jump to the latest firmware or do you have to follow a sequence of firmware upgrades? On Yuneec skins I found the latest version firmware for the st10+. Thank you

If it works, leave it alone. ST10 and ST10+ updates are just plain notorious for turning good controllers into useless bricks.
Sounds good. I won't update the controller. I have 2 ST10+ controllers . 1 is modified with itelite and sunhas amplifier. The 2nd new to me controller I purchased on ebay for cheap, is OEM , no modifications but has the newest- latest firmware . Today I binded the new controller to my Q500 4k and tested it out, it was rock solid ,great range, and never dropped camera signal once. That is why I was questioning the firmware upgrade. I think I'll just keep this OEM controller binded and put my modified controller in storage. Thanks again for your suggestions
Just bought a Q500 4k, it operates but had sd card in controller and somethings were wonky on it, also just acquired another ST10+ controller with antenna mod to it, would like to use it, looking for the software update for both craft and controller, to make this a nice setup to play with before we decide to invest in a newer outfit for the Kid, get him some time under his belt, I got a total of 150 bucks in it.
If it works fine now, leave the firmware alone. If you brick it accidently by attempting a firmware update, then you're screwed

What does that mean? You can format it with FAT32 and put it back in the ST10. When you copy the FlightLog directory before, you have a history what was done with the drone before and what was its behavior or there were crashes and so on.
I just bought it has 2 controllers both st10+, one controller that has antenna mod to it not really hooked to drone, the other one works but has some issues, I am wanting a baseline and updated unit to make this thing operate as it should, you can message me 605-430-6797, with any help would be greatly appreciated.

The SD card in the controller is a good thing. It is where you will find the only copy of the flight logs. The flight logs can be a valuable source for understanding issues with either the drone or the controller itself.
When I first got it I could turn on the motors, but now they dont turn on, and I hear a chirp when holding button
There are a couple of chirps possible. They are codes to describe what is wrong.
- If you can describe the pattern of the chirps it may be enough.
- If there are any flashing lights on the drone, please describe those also.
- You can also connect the Q500 to the GUI and see what is causing the issue.
- If you still have the SD card in the controller, it may contain log files that can help us understand the issue. Refer to Q500 and Chroma Flight Log Retrieval as needed.
No gps from what I see, the beep is coming from the drone, when pushing the start button to active rotors
If the drone has not acquired GPS, it will only beep and will not start the motors.
