I hope a 3rd party steps in and offers mission planning, as in Mission Planner. I read the H+ manual; nothing in there about missions![]()
Oh, if we could get a Solex clone for the H....just dreaming....IMO Yuneec is making a big mistake. Maybe I'm so used to Arducopter and all the capabilities of my "obsolete" Solo it's expected, but $1800-2000+ is a lot to pay for even this fine machine with no possible 3rd party offerings in the future.
It's based on PX4 so it should be a no brainer.
Edit: I think the H520 still can't do missions and no 3rd party support. If Yuneec does get their act together the H520 will go extinct.

I have been following both the Anafi and Evo and while they both have some appealing features - not least their price - I haven't yet seen any clips from either camera which gets even close to the H Plus C23 Spanish mountains footage. I'm told that the Anafi is exceptionally quiet and I very much like its vertical pan and lossless zoom (when filming at lower than max resolution). And the Evo looked a real winner when it was first touted as a 1" sensor at $1,000 but it hasn't delivered. And from the footage I have seen, both look like just another slightly washed-out sportcam whereas the detail and colour depth of the C23 look to me like pro video. And the ultra-clear new ST16 screen is also a must-have for me.I'm sure they will be the same, as will the landing gear, booms, motors, and props. BTW, despite my grousing I'm hoping to see the Plus be a good bird.
They've got some upcoming competition though, so if it doesn't work they'll get hurt bad with a migration. The Parrot Anafi with a 180* vertical gimbal, 4K-60, 21 mpxl HDR camera for about $700.00 and Autel Evo for about $1,000. Autel pretty much screwed themselves in releasing the Evo with only a 12 mpxl camera though. Someone forgot to tell them 'It's all about the camera", and releasing a new drone with 4 year old camera tech is not a wise move. Add in an expectation (mine) that DJI will suddenly announce a significant price drop on Mavics and Phantoms and the Plus will have to run well out the door. I don't think anyone will be tolerant of bad performance reviews this time around.

A couple of points. I'm under the impression you can get Pix4D for the H520, so it certainly does support mission planning and third party software. (and, you can do log analysis and pilots logs with UAV Toolbox online).
The fact that the H Plus is PX4 based may be meaning that the hardware is a PX4 based design (ie. the same hardware as the H520), but that doesn't mean it's running PX4 firmware. I've not checked the code base recently, but certainly curved cable cam and poi missions were not supported by the PX4 flight controller firmware a couple of months ago and I've no reason to believe that's changed.
As a third party supporter of the Typhoon H, I'm interested to see what the Plus is capable of, and would consider providing mission planning software if there is enough demand for it. Yuneec really need to prove themselves with this one though - I cannot justify developing software (buying the hardware, analysing the in-built software, developing a good solution, testing it across regions etc.) if Yuneec aren't able to get pilots excited about this product. It really is down to them to decide what sort of community and ecosystem they'd like to build. I want them to be successful, but I can't make decisions for them.
Personally, I feel this looks like a good product and I'm excited about the camera. Yuneec need to be punching this one home, and making sure H520 owners don't feel left out if they're going to build market share.
