To start this is the H 480 I’ve had for 3+ years now (given to me by John, the Yellowjacket). I have hundreds of flights on this drone and it’s seen some extreme use, but I’ve always taken amazing care of it and performed maintenance when needed.

With that being said, the drone powers up and works as normal, after takeoff I cannot move laterally, moving the R stick left/right does nothing, the drone stays in the same position.

Motors are fine and all the hardware is working properly, I am going to do calibrations and fly without the camera. I am not getting any errors, any excessive heat from any motors, it’s extremely odd.

I was wondering if anyone else has run into this issue? I can upload a telemetry file if anyone is interested but I am concerned about taking off, I should’ve had the previous flight logged.

Hopefully this issue resolves itself but I wanted to ask around, the controller is in ANGLE mode so it shouldn’t have any issues moving. No realsense either.

******EDIT****** Thank you everyone for the help, I was able to get this fixed, Overlooked a few minor details!

Definitely upload your flight log files for the last few flights. Best to send all of the logs (not just the Telemetry file) so it can be analyzed properly in Q500log2kml.

Prior to flight check hardware monitor for proper operation of the controls and also check the Final Output Display (double tap Volts on the ST16) and see that CH2 and only that channel changes value from 100% to -100% while moving the right stick left and right. Diagnose before making repair actions like ST16 calibration.

Have you tried flying it in Smart mode to see if it responds to lateral stick movement?
Doesn’t respond in angle or smart,
Doom brings up a good point, I haven’t tried swapping out controllers, I’m going to use a different ST16 (with q500log2kml) and create a new model, bind, double check stick functionality and if the problem persists I’ll upload the logs.

I thought maybe it was a motor problem but I was able to rule that out.

I’m going to give it a go this weekend, my shop was flipped upside down today I got a nice sturdy 8ft desk/workshop bench put in today. My garage is like a dream come true😂

It didn’t even cross my mind the ST-16 could be causing the issues, and it would make sense, I still have the same controller John used 3+ years ago.

Surprisingly enough this is the first legitimate issue I’ve had with this drone, only one propeller broken in the hundreds of flights over the years.

Definitely not a drone I plan on ever giving up on or getting rid of, I’m gunna keep it in the air for as long as humanly possible.

Your shop looks awesome!

Check your St16 stick first some times they just stop
