Hi,I have 4 new motors to install, when I removed the old ones I noticed there was blue stuff on the screws ( we call it lock nut). This is a solution to help lock them in place so they dont undo.Is it necessary/recommended to use this, just wanting to do this properly.

Yes! The thread lock compound keeps the screws from coming loose due to vibration. The compound usually comes in three strengths the strongest needs to be avoided as it can make it impossible to remove the screws without stripping the heads when/if you need to remove them in the future.

Very little is needed to get the threads to lock. You want to avoid excess compound that could get into the motor.
