Battery question since I cant find an answer

IHMO, if you are not seeing evidence of swelling, that battery can still be used for lower voltage demand, non-flight activities... such as powering the airframe for sitting on the ground to update the GPS almanac or calibrations. It should not be used for flight operations, as the voltage will drop suddenly without any power reserves from that one cell.

EDIT: Didn't note that if that one cell actually has a reading of 6.76 V, immediately give it the salt water bath... do not use.

It has a dead cell and is now extremely dangerous. How much risk and what you can afford to lose is your decision. If your home, shop, car, or life is worth less than the battery there may be some cost benefit in keeping it....

I have an ulra x battery heres the volts 6.76, 0.00, 4.31, 3.86, 62% is it garbage, or can it be saved ?
What are you using to measure it with? A DY3 charger can give very strange readings if not correctly seated?

Both slots give that reading? I suggest reseating the battery first to make sure, even a meter to check, this doesn't seem right.
I often need to reseat the battery 2-3 times before getting the proper reading on the DY3.

The difference from 1 slot to the other is 6.76- 6.74 then the 2 middle cells show 000, with the bottom showing 3.87 ? Whats the safest way to dispose of it, I dont want to throw it in the tras so when the truck compresses it dont want it to explode ?

If you are getting different cells reading zero the issue is more likely to be bad connections between the battery and the DY3. Take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts on the battery and the DY3 and try again. I'm not convinced the battery is bad.

Do you have access to a multimeter so you can measure the voltages manually? I’m thinking that you are definitely getting bad readings from the DY3. A voltage of 6.7 V across a cell would be very unlikely and have it still intact.

Well if that doesnt work at least I learned how to dispose them, salt water bath then the trash ? Pat had mentioned that but I didnt know what he was sayin then I caught another thread that led to an article on these things

A LiPo killer is better. But you need to be 100% sure it's knackered. Do you still have stock charger? What does it do when you try to charge it?

They are notorious for doing that, the charger usually throws up a warning if something is wrong!
