Camera Tethering

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone had tried tethering their CGO3 camera mount? My thinking is in the unlikely event of a crash it won't totally break away and keep the wiring intact? I did crash a couple of times, once the camera did separate from the mount but was lucky that the wiring did not rip out.

The plastic tie does not interfere with the camera guard in place.

Just wanted to get your thoughts...

I'm sure they're designed to break away, so doing anything to defeat that design could result in an even more catastrophic damage than a few ripped wires.

Moderator Steve has shared his method a few times, and many months ago.

If done right, securing the camera does not interfere with operation while at the same time can save the investment (the camera) should the mount fail for whatever reason.

A search on “camera tie”, “wire tie”, and the like should pull up plenty of posts and discussions on this very topic.
